JUNIOR Open Water Diver Course

For the most part, learning to dive is exactly the same for a 10 year old as an adult. Children will learn scuba diving theory, practice underwater skills in confined water and do Open Water dives.
As a certified PADI Open Water Diver, the most widely recognized and respected diving rating in the world, you have the freedom to dive with a partner independent of a professional.
This is a performance-based curriculum, enabling students to progress at their own speed. The course includes academic, confined water, and open water instruction.
The PADI Open Water Course takes 3-4 days.

Throughout the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including diving equipment and techniques. You earn this rating by completing five confined water or pool dives and knowledge development sessions. The confined water dives are followed by four dives at local dive sites under the supervision of your Coral Reef Divers PADI Instructor.
Depth and becoming an (adult) Open Water Diver
Junior Divers have slightly shallower depth limits (12m for 10-11 yr olds), and must dive with a fully-certified adult. From 12 yrs, they can dive to the full 18m.
At 15 years, Junior Open Water divers automatically become Open Water. No extra course or card required. Or they can do the Advanced course and get a new certification
