Emergency First Response Course

The PADI First Emergency Response Course trains the participants in basic emergency care. First Aid and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) are good skills for everybody that is involved in adventure sports. You might need these skills even in your daily life.

The PADI Emergency First Response Course is recommended for those who wish to continue their diving education. You need to have your EFR certificate to make the PADI Rescue Diver Course, the PADI Divemaster Course and the PADI Instructor Course.

No minimum age or other pre- requisites are required to follow the EFR Course.

In the PADI EFR Course, you will work closely with your instructor and he will teach you the following lifesaving skills:

  • BLS or Basic Life Support, CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level.
  • Prevention and care in situations where you have to deal with patients that are in shock, who aren’t breathing, that have no heartbeat, that may have spinal injury or who may have serious bleeding injuries.
  • Performing CPR and monitoring the patient until medical services arrive.
  • Secondary Care or First Aid. You will learn how to provide first aid to ease the pain and to reduce the risk of further harm until medical services arrive. You will also practice bandaging and splinting.
  • Care for children and infants. This part of the course allows you to practice and apply emergency care skills specific for children and infants with medical emergencies.
